Before you hire
a bookkeeper.
Understand the service, the cost, and what working together looks like. Start with whatever’s on your mind.
Ask about your situationFinding the right fit
The work, the software, and where to start.
Askew Bookkeeping focuses on owner-operated service businesses with straightforward to moderate bookkeeping needs. That includes trades, home-service companies, consultants, agencies, and similar businesses. The best way to check fit is to share how your business runs and where you need help.
Meet BaileyThe core service covers bank and credit-card reconciliation, transaction categorization supported by bank rules, and monthly financial statements. Additional tracking or reporting is agreed as part of your scope, based on what the business needs.
Explore the servicesAskew Bookkeeping works in QuickBooks Online. If you’re already using it, we can discuss your current setup. If you need help getting started, QuickBooks Online setup is available as a separate service.
See setup and bookkeeping optionsYes. Catch-up work brings overdue periods up to date; cleanup work addresses errors and disorganized records. You may need one or both before moving into a monthly routine. You don’t need to diagnose the problem before reaching out.
Cost and commitment
Understand the price before deciding.
Monthly bookkeeping starts at $250. Your quote depends on the number of accounts, transaction activity, reporting needs, and work involved. Catch-up, cleanup, and setup projects are quoted separately based on their scope.
Understand the pricingYou save $50 per month when you pay for three months of recurring bookkeeping in advance, or $150 per quarter. The agreed bookkeeping work stays the same. This discount does not apply to setup, catch-up, cleanup, or other one-time projects.
Compare billing optionsNo. The form starts a conversation about your needs and whether we’re a good fit. Submitting it does not create a client relationship or authorize bookkeeping work. Scope and pricing are agreed before work begins.
Working together
What to expect once we connect.
I review your request and typically respond within 1–2 business days. We talk through your current books and the help you need, then discuss the recommended scope and pricing if the service is a fit.
See how getting started worksYou’ll provide the records and answers needed to keep the books accurate. We agree on access, document sharing, and responsibilities during onboarding. Communication stays focused on missing information and decisions; monthly financial walkthroughs can be discussed as an optional part of your scope.
Askew Bookkeeping does not provide tax preparation, tax strategy, or payroll processing. The goal is organized bookkeeping records for your chosen tax professional. Payroll bookkeeping or tracking may be included in your agreed scope, while your payroll provider handles processing.
Automation can help with repetitive work. A bookkeeper reviews transactions in the context of your business, follows up on unclear items, reconciles accounts, and keeps a consistent monthly process. That review matters when a transaction is unclear or an account doesn’t match the statement.
No. Use the consultation form to describe your business and what you need help with. Leave out financial documents, passwords, account credentials, and Social Security numbers. If we move forward, you’ll receive instructions for sharing access and documents securely during onboarding.
